Got a bit of a shock this morning, as I was leaving the house to go to work (6am). As I closed ad locked the front door, I spotted Tom two doors down running from the roadside across the pavement and into their front garden. We hoped that the cats would be scared of the traffic noise, but obviously Tom is a bit more inquisitive.
Anyway, to get back to the story, I called Tom and he looked at me with a surprised look and the proceeded to bound over the walls between the front gardens of the houses, straight past me and over the next two walls towards a gap in the houses leading to the back gardens. He stopped, looked back and then made a move towards the road. I put my bag down, nealed low just outside the front wall and did the sucky kissy noise, at which point he looked at me again and started meowing. I got up and walked to the door, where I jingled the keys in the lock and opened it. He then came bounding back over the walls and ran into the living room. I then closed and locked the door.
Phew, that was a close one. I just hope he stays in the back gardens from now on, but I doubt it.
