It's a few days later and so far the cats have been quite well behaved in the mornings. It's quite funny when I get up and go into the bathroom for my wash and teeth cleaning, as Tom follows me in and miaows at me while looking at me with his big eyes through the mirror. Sometimes he will stretch up and put his paws on the basin until he gets hit with the water. A couple of times he has tried to claw at my legs while I'm washing and drawn blood, but on the whole he is great. Once all that has finished it's usualy Jerry that pounces on him before they both run downstairs to get ready for brekky.
Well the cats have been pretty good for the last week or so. They have been waking me at various times and the pouncing under the covers at my extremities has drawn blood a couple of times, but now if I ignore them they soon settle down and I get the sleep I need.
It's the new year and after being slack on the blog front I am adding this update now, and will be adding all the photo's taken over the festive period over the course of the next week or so.
Have managed to get mainly good layins dring the hols, except the one morning where Jerry drew blood from my foot and I ended up getting out of bed at 4am. Ooh he is such a little pouncer. Now back to the old routine of getting up for work so I will monitor the up times this week to see how the puds react........keep watching this space. Its after the christmas festivities and nothing much to report. The cats have been very good and not woken me up at all. In fact, I got a lay in til 8am this morning, FANTASTIC. Overeaten a little bit and now need to work off the belly I seem to have aquired. Will update at new year.
Well, it's christmas eve and the wonderful puddy tats did'nt wake me up too early. Still had to be up and out by 6am to get to work. Yet again the "high" speed service was nothing of the sort. Still, after today I am off til 4th January 2010.
Once again I was woken by my alarm and not the kitties.....ITS A RECORD!
Trains still stuffed as the fast service was 45 minutes late this morning. We hope Christmas Eve will be better.....watch this space. Tuesday morning not woken by the cats at all. Woken by my alarm. Fantastic. Unfortunately I neednt have got up so early as the trains were still up the shoot. Took 3 hours to get to work.
Saturday morning got woken at 5am ish but getting used to it. Sunday morning.....der, der, derrrrrrrrrrr......lay in till 7.45am, hooray. Monday morning woken at 2.30, then at 3.30 then stayed awake until 4.12am when I decided to get up until leaving for work at 6.30am. Unfortunately (or fortunately, whichever point of view you want to take), after getting to the station, there were no trains due to the adverse weather (snow n ice). Popped home then tried again at 9am but still no trains......whoopee, were having a day off, which means I might be able to catch up on the sleep i didnt get last night.
I think Tom must have been looking for a new record this morning. 2.05am was his first purry paddy visit to my head. I calmy asked him to remove himself from the bed, which he did.....good boy. 3.24am and he was back again.....bad boy. This time after shouting at him 4 times and throwing him off the bed 3 times, I had to get out of bed, push him out the door and then put a wedge under it. That, thankfully, was the last I heard until I got up at 5.20am. He and Jerry were sitting downstairs with a fully awake Angie (she had been up all night).
Am now looking forward to some kind of lay-in at the weekend (if poss). Well.......I was'nt woken up at all this morning (except by the alarm in my head).
Bless their little ginger paws, they were patiently waiting for me to get up and go downstairs to feed them. We do have to put flaps up and block all holes in the living room as Jerry likes to explore (regularly), but Tom just gets chased up to our bedroom where he sleeps all day. |
